On September 10, 2024, FKIP UNSRI conducted a pre-departure orientation for SEA Teachers who will be going to Philippine Normal University (PNU). The orientation was done online through Zoom meeting. The meeting was attended by coordinator of SEA Teacher program, some lecturers, mentors, SEA Teacher participants, and also an ex-SEA Teacher student who did the program in Capiz State University, the Philippines last year.
During the meeting, there were some topics discussed as an insight for us, the SEA Teacher students. The topics included things to prepare prior to the departure, ways that we should behave and things that we should do during our stay for a month in Manila. Other topics were also discussed, for instance, promoting local culture in the country, and some common phrases used in there.
Finally, there was a sharing session between an ex-SEA Teacher student and us. A quite long discussion and experience sharing related to the program had been done. There were some suggestions given by us for the program. Hopefully, we could run the SEA Teacher program this year very well.
